Female biohacker reveals how she plans to live to 150

The average life expectancy for humans around the world may only be 83 - but one woman is hoping to double that using a rigorous biohacking regime.

Kayla Barnes-Lentz, 33, from LA, spends six figures annually on keeping up her uber healthy lifestyle in the hope of being able to 'live healthily' until she's 150-years-old.

In an interview with The Telegraph, the biohacker revealed her stringent program for etching on the years, including taking 20 supplements a day, walking 15,000 steps, sleeping in a cage and using 'oxygen treatment'.

The self-described biohacker is the co founder of a 'biology upgrading clinic' in LA in the US, called LYV The Wellness Space. 

She also hosts her own podcast called Longevity Optimization, where she tells listeners how they can eek out extra minutes of life using 'biohacker' methods.

The 33-year-old claimed she has reversed her biological age by 10 years using 'small lifestyle changes' - which she insists others can achieve using her multi-step longevity protocol.

In the UK the life expectancy is 79 for men and 83 for women but a new surge in biohackers could change that.

Extremely health conscious biohackers such as Kayla, are attempting to rewire their bodies to keep them going well beyond the average.

But Kayla claimed she is unlike other biohackers, such as the famous Bryan Johnson, who renowned for his extreme biohacking methods such as consuming 100 pills a day - and his latest venture which saw him replacing his blood plasma to remove 'unnatural pollutants'. 

She told The Independent that she is not aiming to live forever but that her goal 'is to live as long as my husband does, not forever.'

Keeping up with her rigid and expensive regime alongside her is Kayla's husband, Warren Lentz, 36. 

Though she said she had passion for wellness long before Warren joined her on her journey to doubling her life expectancy. 

When the two first met, Kayla asked for in depth details about her potential mate's health to ensure he would be a suitable partner. By the second phone call, she had already asked for his lab results.

The podcast host revealed she spends nearly all hours of each day practicing methods that her designed to elongate the lifespan.

Her day begins each day at 5am sharp, having woken up naturally at that time. 

Alongside her numerous wellness rituals is one crucial part of Kayla's regime is bodily checking.

Her morning starts by stepping onto a biometric smart scale, which measures weight, fat mass, bone density and water mass.

The wellness enthusiast then checks her Oura ring for an analysis report of her sleep and menstrual cycle each morning as well as a weekly lung health check using a spirometer.

Emphasising the importance of the 'oral microbiome', she undergoes a rigorous oral hygiene routine including tongue scrapping and 'ozone pulling' which involves swilling coconut oil around the mouth.

She then uses her Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy device used to reduce 'inflammation' and encourage 'microcirculation'. 

By 7am, Kayla has completed a rigorous workout, followed by a protein fortified coffee, mediation and a session in the sauna. 

She consumes only 'organic and regeneratively-grown foods' and typically packs a breakfast full of eggs and fermented vegetables.

Each day, she consumes 20 tablets containing supplements which are 'dictated by my quarterly bloods'. Amongst a lengthily list of pills, Kayla takes nicotinamide mononucleotide and spermidine. 

Each day, she ensures she walks at least 15,000 steps - well over the average suggestion of 10,000.

And the pursuit of longevity is far some over come the afternoon. After an ice cold plunge after lunch, Kayla hops onto a 'whole body vibration plate' - believed to help with detoxing the body.

She aims to work in 90-minute segments, and regularly practices breathing techniques throughout the day. 

And shortly after she spends an hour in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, aimed at oxygenating the cells.

Kayla prepares her meals from organic ingredients shopped at the trendy American health shop, Erewhon and eats dinner at 5:30pm sharp.

She consumes mainly fresh fruits, vegetables and meats and avoids processed foods at all costs.

After an hour long walk for 'nature bathing', Kayla is ready for an REM monitored kip and is usually asleep well before 9pm.

She then spends the night in a Faraday cage, an enclosure used to block out electromagnetic fields. 

Her regime also includes being injected with platelet-rich fibrin once a year. The procedure involves removing the blood to be 'spun' before reinjecting back into the gums. The bizarre technique purportedly reduces 'inflammation'.

As well as preparing her body to last the century, Kayla's efforts are also aimed at preparing her body for motherhood. 

As she and her husband prepare to bring life into the world, they are both undergoing rigorous biology optimising and Kayla will endure 'in-depth labs' during her pregnancy.

She hopes to bring her children into her health demanding world.  

According to Kayla, her health regimented practices have already reversed her biological age year 10 years - and she is keen to sample as many life enhancing practices as she can.

While she knows her routine is 'a lot', she said she hopes to encourage other to maximise their life, telling the The Telegraph that we are currently in a 'health crisis'.

Kayla said: 'Many people feel constantly tired and don't know what it's like to wake up bursting with energy. It's exciting to see small lifestyle changes that can make such a difference.'
