Meghan Markle Gets Letter 'Safely In Hands' Of Dad Thomas! But Is She Being Shady AF??

Days after learning her father Thomas Markle was rushed into emergency surgery and had to have a leg amputation amid a “life or death” situation, Meghan Markle has finally gotten in touch with her estranged parent. A representative for the Duchess of Sussex confirmed to People on Wednesday that a letter was delivered to the 81-year-old in the hospital — thanks to “the support of reliable and trusted” people. The statement read:
“With the support of reliable and trusted contacts, her correspondence is now safely in his hands.”
Oh, dang, is she throwing a little shade??? Considering how shady her estranged family members are, though, we wouldn’t blame her. When the Suits alum’s rep first claimed she had reached out after the operation, her stepsister Samantha SLAMMED the report, calling it “PR bulls**t.”
Meghan has spent days trying to figure out which Philippine hospital her father is in. She supposedly sent him an email on Friday, but he claimed he never got anything. And while Thomas has insisted he hasn’t changed his phone number, People sources previously said Meg doesn’t have his current contact information and that Thomas wasn’t in possession of his phone anyway. So, she was forced to call different hospitals until she located him. Her team was also in touch with those close to her father to determine the best way to get connected.
So, who are those “reliable and trusted contacts” that helped her?? It’s unclear. But she is pointing fingers at a journalist for making it so difficult for her to share a private, personal moment with her dad! Her rep dished:
“Given that a Daily Mail reporter has remained at her father’s bedside throughout, broadcasting each interaction and breaching clear ethical boundaries, it has been exceedingly difficult for the Duchess to contact her father privately, despite her efforts over the past several days.”
Damn!
Caroline Graham is the journalist with him. She’s formed a close bond with him since 2018 — the year of Meghan’s wedding and start of the estrangement — seeing him as “something of a father figure.” According to her DailyMail.com article on Saturday, he chose “to break the news of the amputation to me before his own family.” Huh.
Guess we’ll have to wait and see what Thomas and her family have to say about this note!
