Exactly How Meghan Markle 'Reached Out' To Father Thomas -- Amid His Claims He Hasn't Heard From Her After Leg Amputation!

As Perezcious readers know, last week, Meg’s stepbrother Thomas Markle Jr. revealed their father was rushed into emergency surgery for a leg amputation amid a “life or death” health scare in the Philippines, where he lives. Thomas is currently in recovery and was eager to hear from his estranged daughter. But after reports that she reached out, her relatives SLAMMED the claim, with Samantha Markle calling it “PR bulls**t!” Per DailyMail.com, Thomas was “confused” by the report because he hadn’t heard anything from the Duchess of Sussex.
So, what was the mix-up??? According to People on Sunday, the With Love, Meghan star DID reach out — but it wasn’t via a personal phone call or text message. Instead, she reportedly emailed him! Oh, and she wants people to know it’s not her fault her family is claiming she didn’t get in touch! The outlet pointed out that Meghan did not receive any kind of error or bounce-back notification when she hit send on the email. That said, her efforts to get updated contact information for her father are ongoing. Her team is trying to get clarification from those closest to the patient about the best method of contacting him in the ICU during his recovery.
While an email might seem kinda shady given the serious nature of his condition, according to a journalist in contact with Thomas, efforts for Meghan to get in touch with him have been made more difficult because he’s not in possession of his phone at the moment and the Suits alum doesn’t have a working phone number for him. So, yeah, that’s challenging!! But even if she did have his phone number, because he doesn’t have access to it currently, leaving a voicemail wouldn’t be smart considering her husband Prince Harry‘s issues with phone-hacking.
In the meantime, the mother of two has reportedly personally dialed up several hospitals in the area trying to find her dad, but she hasn’t been able to confirm where he is. If she could identify the hospital, she could send a handwritten note while he doesn’t have his phone.
Whew. This all seems very convoluted!
Previously, a hospital source told DM that Meghan hadn’t contacted the hospital. While the father and daughter have been estranged for many years, Thomas is eager to make amends and meet his grandchildren. He’s also denied changing his number. We’ll have to wait and see if they ever get connected and this amounts to anything…
