Photo: Nigerian pilgrims released by Saudi over drug issues visit Marwa
by The Eagle Online · The Eagle OnlineTwo out of the three Nigerian pilgrims released by Saudi Arabia following the intervention of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have visited its Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, retired Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa.
The Eagle Online recalls that three Nigerians were arrested by the Saudi Arabia authorities following illicit drugs found in their bags.
However, findings by the NDLEA established that a syndicate stuffed the drugs in their bags without their knowledge.
Drug smuggling attracts a death penalty in Saudi Arabia.
However, the NDLEA averted this for them and they were set free.
