Arrested Doctor Completes Statement Over Mazonakis Death

The doctor accused of the death of popular Greek singer Giorgos Mazonakis has completed nearly eight hours of questioning by an investigating magistrate.

The woman faces a charge of intentional homicide with possible intent, alongside her husband, following the death of Mazonakis.

According to the case allegations, the doctor was attending to Mazonakis during a medical procedure when the popular artist collapsed in her hands.

The accused doctor reportedly denies the charge. She began her statement at around 2pm and left the investigating magistrate’s office shortly before 10pm.

The proceedings will continue with the statement of the second accused, the doctor’s husband, who faces the same charge and also denies it.

Once both statements conclude, the two accused will appear before the prosecutor. The prosecutor and investigating magistrate will then jointly decide how to proceed with their criminal case.
