Greek American model and entrepreneur Constantine Condos is preparing to represent Greece at the 2026 Mister Universe pageant in Los Angeles, bringing his Greek heritage, entrepreneurial ambitions and commitment to community to the international stage.

Condos, 20, spoke with journalist Markos Papadatos about his upcoming appearance, his connection to Greece and his experiences growing up as a Greek American in New Jersey.

The 2026 Mister Universe competition will take place in Los Angeles, California, from November 22 to 29.

The Mister Universe Organization describes the competition as an international platform that celebrates different cultures, backgrounds and religions while providing participating men with opportunities to share their stories and make an impact in their communities.

Representing Greece

Condos said he feels honoured to have been selected to represent Greece, particularly as one of the younger competitors in the field.

“It feels great. I feel honored that I was selected to compete and represent Greece, and I am honored to represent my generation,” he said.

He said his age should not be seen as a limitation when it comes to knowledge and experience.

For Condos, representing Greece also carries a deeper connection to the history and competitive spirit of the ancient world.

“Coming from my background and growing up with the Greek Olympics, I’ve always been inspired by the competition and by the way our ancestors competed,” he said.

“I feel like I’m bringing that mentality with me into a new-age competition. I feel like I’m representing my community and my people very well by carrying that mentality with me.”

A strong connection to his Greek heritage

Condos described himself as a Spartan and said part of his family comes from Galaxidi.

Although he grew up near the beach in New Jersey, his first visit to Greece gave him the opportunity to meet relatives and experience the country through his family.

“I’ve always felt very connected to that heritage,” he said.

He said his time in Greece gave him a different perspective on family, religion and community.

“It was incredible to experience the different lifestyle that Greece offers, especially for young people, when it comes to relationships, religion, and the importance of working together as a community,” he said.

Condos contrasted this with what he described as the more individualistic nature of American life, saying his experiences in Greece reinforced the importance of family, church and community.

He also spoke about the traditions that continue to shape Greek identity, including attending church, fasting and participating in cultural traditions.

From modelling to entrepreneurship

Beyond pageantry, Condos has pursued modelling and entrepreneurship, including launching his own clothing company.

He described entrepreneurship as a process built around discipline, consistency and learning from failure.

“You can fail over and over again, but it’s really just a process of learning,” he said.

Condos said his long-term goal is not simply to build his own career but to create opportunities for others.

“I don’t want to be the boss; I want to be a leader,” he said.

He hopes his business ventures can provide opportunities for aspiring models, designers and entrepreneurs to explore their own talents and find a sense of purpose.

His current chapter

Condos described the current stage of his life using the metaphor of a teapot.

“God has me right now on a simmer. My water hasn’t started boiling yet,” he said.

He said journalling has helped him reflect on where he is mentally while preparing for new opportunities, including Mister Universe, runway appearances and the continued development of his brand.

He sees the current period as a time for preparation before entering what he describes as the next major chapter of his life.

How he defines success

For Condos, success goes beyond financial results.

He said his greatest sense of fulfilment comes from seeing other people benefit from the work he does, whether through entrepreneurship, personal training or creating experiences for others.

“If somebody is happy at the end because I helped them get to where they wanted to be, then I feel successful,” he said.

He believes personal fulfilment and helping others achieve their goals are central to his definition of success.

Greek American community

Condos also spoke about the strength of the Greek American community and the role that Greek Orthodox life and organisations can play in connecting younger generations.

He highlighted his experience at Ionian Village in Greece, where he met Greek American young people from across the United States.

“It was one of the best experiences of my life because I met other Greek kids from across America,” he said.

For Condos, those relationships created connections that could extend into friendship, family and business.

He said the Greek American community has a distinctive sense of shared identity built around faith, family and cultural traditions.

His favourite Greek food

When asked about his favourite Greek dish, Condos did not hesitate.

“I’m going to have to go with spanakopita. 100 percent,” he said, crediting his mother and aunt for making some of the best spanakopita he has tasted.

A message for young people

Condos encouraged people to invest in themselves and accept that failure can be part of the process of growth.

He said people should focus on developing their minds, gaining experience and discovering their own purpose.

“The more you invest in yourself, the more you learn,” he said.

He believes those experiences can eventually help people support and inspire others.

Looking ahead to Mister Universe

As he prepares for the Mister Universe stage in Los Angeles, Condos said he wants people to understand that there is no perfect moment to begin pursuing a goal.

“There is no perfect way to start something. There is no specific starting line. Start messy. Start scared,” he said.

For Condos, the competition represents more than a pageant. It is an opportunity to represent his Greek heritage, share his experiences and demonstrate what he believes is possible through discipline, purpose and perseverance.

“I’m using myself as an outlet and a representation of what is possible for everybody else,” he said.
