Punjabi singer Jasmine Sandlas is currently enjoying the success of her songs from Dhurandhar, but she has also opened up about a deeply personal and difficult phase in her life. In a recent conversation on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, the singer spoke candidly about her struggles with alcohol addiction and the emotional trauma she experienced over the years.

Reflecting on her journey, Jasmine shared that despite rising success in her career, her personal life was going through turmoil. She revealed that this phase coincided with intense emotional stress, strained family relationships, and the loss of her father. During this time, she turned to alcohol and admitted that she consumed it excessively, something she now regrets, even though she felt it was necessary for her at that point in life.

Talking about her early years, the singer said growing up was not easy and she had to deal with several challenges on her own. These unresolved emotions continued to affect her even as her professional life flourished. She said, “I struggled a lot… life has its ups and downs… we need guidance and nurturing,” while also questioning why parents can sometimes be harsh towards their children. She admitted, “I regret some of the things I did during those 2-3 years when I used to drink alcohol.”

Jasmine also opened up about the emotional impact of her childhood, revealing that repeated heartbreak from her parents left a lasting effect on her. She said, “When you don’t have a safe place to run to, you start looking for a home in everything,” adding that she has spent much of her life searching for that sense of belonging.

Born in Jalandhar and raised in California, Jasmine began her music career in 2008 and rose to fame with hits like Yaar Na Mile. More recently, she has contributed songs such as ShararatMain Aur TuJaiye Sajna, and Aari Aari to Dhurandhar and its sequel, further cementing her place in the industry.
