Nalwadi’s life-size portrait unveiled at K.R. Hospital

Mysore/Mysuru: A life-size colour portrait of erstwhile Maharaja of Mysore Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar, the Founder of K.R. Hospital, was unveiled at the hospital premises in city yesterday.

Member of Erstwhile Royal Family of Mysore Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, unveiled the portrait, which is eight-feet long and six-feet in width, at the main entrance of the hospital, where the administrative block functions.

Speaking on the occasion, Pramoda Devi Wadiyar said, “We share an emotional bond with the K.R. Hospital. Moreover, with the intention of continuing the initiatives of our ancestors, I have unveiled the portrait of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar, with extreme happiness.”

Pramoda Devi Wadiyar also suggested Chamaraja MLA K. Harishgowda and MLC Dr. D. Thimmaiah, present at the event, to take note of the complaints related to the hospital and address them, to make the facilities reach more people.

Apart from Mysuru district, the patients from economically backward sections belonging to neighbouring districts have been availing of better treatment provided at this hospital, she added.

Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI) Dean and Director Dr. K.R. Dakshayani, K.R. Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. H.P. Shobha, Administrative Committee Members Dr. K. Mahadev, Tanuja Mahesh and Dr. Sunil, Administrative Officer V.R. Mahesh, MMC&RI Principal Dr. K. Satish, Financial Advisor N. Nuthanashree, Cheluvamba Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. R. Sudha and Resident Medical Officer (RMO) Dr. Nayaz Pasha were present.
