Club eye move for Crystal Palace star – Move dependent on sale first

by · Sport Witness

Fenerbahçe are eyeing a move for Crystal Palace star Daniel Muñoz as a replacement for Nelson Semedo this summer.

Fotospor report that Fenerbahçe are intending to move Semedo on this summer. If they are successful in that, then the Crystal Palace full back is being considered as his replacement.

Crystal Palace exit likely

The website explains that Semedo’s contract with Fenerbahçe is due to expire on June 30th, 2027. The 32-year-old is likely to receive offers this summer as a result. Should a suitable one be made, the Turkish side will part ways with the Portuguese full-back.

Once that happens, they will step up their efforts to sign Daniel Muñoz from Crystal Palace. According to their information, the Eagles are planning to sign a replacement for the Colombian this summer.

In fact, they are expecting him to move from Selhurst Park in the coming weeks. They’ve reportedly set an asking price of €15m for the 30-year-old. His current deal runs until 2028.

Post World Cup developments

The full back is currently at the World Cup with Colombia. ‘Significant developments’ regarding his future are expected once their participation at the tournament is over. Inter Milan are another potential destination for him. They will need a replacement for Denzel Dumfries, who is expected to join Real Madrid.

The Italian side had been targeting Marco Palestra. But he has instead headed to Chelsea after they made a sudden and decisive move for him this week.

Fenerbahçe’s potential effort to sign the Crystal Palace full back is dependent on Semedo. If he moves on, space will be opened and they’ll make their move for Muñoz. If he does not depart, though, then the deal for the Crystal Palace man will also fall through.

Either way, the belief is that Muñoz’s future is uncertain this summer. Fenerbahçe will be in the mix if they can move Semedo on, as planned.
