TV and radio star Amanda Holden has completed the first day of what could be her toughest ever challenge after cycling across the South West from Bude to Tiverton.

The 53-year-old left her mother's house, in Bude, Cornwall, early today, Monday, October 7, cycling across the region and finishing the day, greeted by crowds at Exe Valley Leisure Centre in Tiverton at just before 5.40pm, arriving just after a heavy downpour.

Amanda Holden has previously completed a three peaks challenge, a ten-thousand feet skydive and climbing to the top of Blackpool Tower in challenges in aid of the Make Some Noise charitable campaigns by Global, where she works as the breakfast presenter on Heart. She's now in the process of cycling 250 miles from Bude to London over five days.

On Sunday, she admitted to having a generous supply of "bum butter", a product designed to prevent saddle sores, thanks to her friends who keep sending it. In a light-hearted prediction, Amanda suggested that she'll be "as ripped as Davina McCall" by the end of the week due to burning an estimated 15,000 calories a day.

Tomorrow she will start her ride in Taunton, heading through Somerset and finishing in Frome.
