Thundery showers and heavy rain are set to hit Devon once again this afternoon. Met Office weather maps show horrible patches of bad weather to blow over the county throughout today (Tuesday, October 8) as the forecaster predicts another barrage of bad weather brought on by an ex-hurricane.

The UK is facing the remnants of Hurricane Kirk, which blew over the Atlantic Ocean, losing power as it went. It is no longer a hurricane but the gusty winds and heavy rain are still anticipated to affect the country's weather patterns.

The Met Office has issued another severe weather alert, for thunderstorms, which are expected to wreak havoc all over the UK today. While no weather warning has been issued in Devon, the region is still expected to see some awful weather today.

The Exeter-based forecaster said: "Heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected during Tuesday, with some localised disruption possible"
