Supermodel Cindy Crawford and her businessman husband, Rande Gerber, lost their son, Presley Gerber, on September 20, 2026. Presley, who was a model by profession, was just 27 at the time of his death, and his family is devastated by the news, as they never saw this coming. Months before his sudden death, Cindy heaped praise on her kids and spoke about Presley and Kaia.

Months before Presley’s tragic passing, Cindy sat for an interview with People and revealed that for a parent, it is a proud moment to see their children’s love for each other. During that time, Cindy, along with her two children and her husband, Rande Gerber, were collaborating with Vuori for their Spring campaign. In her words:

“Nothing makes, I think, a parent prouder than when your kids like each other and love each other. It’s not often that you have that recorded and hear that, hearing what your kids have to say about you.”

The cause of Presley’s sudden death has not been revealed. The autopsy has been completed but his cause of death has been listed as “deferred” at this time. If a report by PEOPLE is to be believed, audio from dispatch calls mentioned a cardiac arrest and suspected overdose. Presley had a history of mental health and drug abuse issues. He was open about his major opiate addiction. He was also in a coma for many days after experiencing a near-fatal fentanyl overdose. In a 2023 podcast interview, he said that dealing with depression, anxiety, and panic attacks had become a major part of his daily life.

As per multiple reports, Cindy Crawford is ‘inconsolable’ after the death of her only son, Presley Gerber. A source told Page Six that the supermodel is devastated by the news and the family is 'saddened beyond words'. According to the source, Cindy and Rande were deeply involved in Presley's life, and it was not the case of two Hollywood absent parents. Speaking about the family’s condition, the source said:

“This is every parent’s worst nightmare, and the family is still trying to process everything that happened.”

Presley began his modeling career at 16, debuting for Moschino. Before Presley got deep into modeling, he tried his hand at photography. He later walked for Dolce & Gabbana, Burberry, and Calvin Klein. Presley has been open about the issues of his addiction and the several setbacks he had. In December 2025, Presley Gerber shared an Instagram video in which he spoke about relying on prescription medication to manage his symptoms, including antidepressants for depression and medication for panic attacks.

Cindy and Rande never stopped supporting Presley, and a few months ago, Presley attended a mental health awareness event, where he said he felt the 'most free' when he was 'honest' with himself. However, his journey included periods of stability followed by several setbacks. For the unversed, Presley was arrested while driving under the influence in December 2018. In July 2019, he pleaded guilty to a DUI misdemeanor and was sentenced to three years’ probation.
