The Union Minister said that today's conference will be held under the theme "Empowering Physicians for Tomorrow's Challenges" and that he is particularly proud that this is the 20th medical conference of the Myanmar Medical Association, which has been in existence for about (50) years. Today, many countries in the world are facing new challenges in the medical world due to infectious diseases, non-communicable chronic diseases, antibiotic resistance, increasing life expectancy and increasing elderly population, urban development and changing lifestyles. Therefore, medical professionals in Myanmar must increase cooperation with international academic organizations to keep pace with the international level, and strive to use modern medical treatment and diagnostic technologies. In line with the changing era and technology, it is necessary to improve the quality of treatment for patients by using Telemedicine, Electronic Health Record (EHR), AI technologies, and Evidence Based Medicine. The Ministry of Health is using a large amount of state funds to upgrade public hospitals in regions and states, expand medical centers, install modern equipment for advanced diagnostic services, and continuously supply basic medicines and medical supplies to ensure access to health care. It is also providing domestic training for the development of health human resources, sending scholars to international countries, providing hands-on training, and sending new generation medical professionals to seminars and conferences on academic and specialized subjects. It is preparing medical curricula and producing postgraduate students in specialized subjects to ensure the emergence of qualified new generation medical professionals and to enable them to study and learn the evolving medical sciences. The role of the Myanmar Medical Association in the continuous development of medical disciplines and the training of qualified medical professionals is important. The new generation of young medical professionals must also provide treatment to the public in accordance with medical ethics. It is a beneficial conference as medical professionals from ASEAN countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and India will attend this conference and share their experiences, knowledge, and changing medical treatment processes. I believe that it will be a beneficial conference. I believe that it will contribute to the development of Myanmar medical science and provide good experiences for the new generation of medical professionals.
