Nor’easter? More Like No Weekend Plans.

Sorry to the entire East Coast, but your weekend has been canceled. Meteorologists are predicting severe weather from Boston to the Outer Banks. Haven’t they suffered enough? Shows are getting canceled across several states.

The Global Citizen Festival, timed to coincide with the U.N. General Assembly, is the latest to pack it up ahead of the rain. “Due to the extreme weather forecast for New York City this weekend, we have made the difficult decision, in consultation with the City of New York and NYC Parks, to cancel this year’s Global Citizen Festival,” organizers said in a statement. “Forecasts predict dangerous conditions and circumstances in which we cannot safely bring tens of thousands of Global Citizens, artists, crew, vendors, partners, and staff onto the Great Lawn, let alone all of the equipment required.”

Also off the calendar is Ed Sheeran’s two nights at Robert Kraft’s Gillette Stadium. Sheeran’s tour has already been subject to a torrential downpour of criticism, after the singer capitulated to stadium owners and booted Macklemore as an opener for saying “Free Palestine” onstage.

Other shows getting nixed by the nor’easter include the CBGB Festival, All Things Go, AC/DC’s Friday show at MetLife, and Oceans Calling Festival in Ocean City, Maryland. Backrooms just hit streaming — maybe watch that instead?
