All Brandi Glanville Got Was a Crooked Boob on Special Forces
by Jason P. Frank · VULTUREFormer Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville did not have an easy time on the Fox show Special Forces. The show puts celebrities through a continual barrage of physical tasks and challenges, and, by the end of the fifth-season premiere, Glanville withdrew for medical reasons. She clocked a total of 14 hours on the show. Contestants still in the game include Orange Is the New Black star Ruby Rose, conservative Full House alum Candace Cameron Bure, and the lying politician George Santos.
Glanville’s quick run came to an end after the first challenge: jumping out of a helicopter. “I felt my head crash into the water and I thought that was it — it was like a baseball bat to my head,” Glanville told Entertainment Weekly. “And then all of a sudden my full body slams into the water and I’m like, ‘Ugh.’” Even now, her body aches: “I still have a heating pad. I’m still hurt. It was intense.” After the jump, a doctor asked if it hurt when she breathed, and she confirmed it did. “It’s exhausting to always be bouncing back from something,” Glanville said on the show, referring to her recent facial disfigurement. “You keep getting tested and sometimes you can’t get back up.”
Given the pain, the medical team removed her from the show, which she wasn’t surprised by. “I knew I wasn’t staying. My left boob was under my armpit!” she says now. “My head was spinning and I felt like I was going to throw up — but then I saw the camera and I’m like, ‘You are not getting that from me.’ I sat down and everyone kept patting me on the back like, ‘Get up, come on.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, don’t touch me.’ I was done.” Ultimately, she had both a concussion and a perforated eardrum. We’d like to see Glanville on a more glamorous Traitors all-stars season next.
