Liam Payne 'preyed on by drug dealers in Argentina' before tragic balcony fall

by · Irish Mirror

Liam Payne tragically fell victim to drug dealers in Buenos Aires, a close friend of the singer has revealed. The former One Direction star met his untimely death at an Argentinian hotel last week, aged just 31.

Argentine media have reported that forensic experts found cocaine in his system. Top news outlet Infobae reported that autopsy results from last Wednesday confirmed the presence of the class-A substance.

Now, a pal of Liam's has come forward claiming the star was targeted by dealers who supposedly supplied him with drugs directly to his hotel room, despite him being clean for a considerable period.

The friend opened up to Mail Online about Liam's past stints in rehab in both the UK and California. They shared that he had recently started seeing a new psychiatrist in Florida and there was hope he was on the path to recovery.

"He went to Argentina to renew his USA visa where he had to undergo medical examination because of his history with alcohol and drugs," the source disclosed. "The results of the tests were good. Liam was 100 per cent sober. But when he checked in at the hotel, at some point someone there started giving him drugs."

The friend lamented that although Liam had been fighting hard to stay sober, "they preyed on him," accusing those responsible of caring only about money, not Liam's wellbeing, reports the Mirror.

Two hotel workers at the Casa Sur Hotel are reportedly under investigation after Liam's tragic passing. The Daily Mail claims that a cleaner and another employee allegedly concealed drugs inside a Dove soap box, which police have since discovered.

It's been reported that traces of white powder, crystals, tablets, and various drug-related items were found in Liam's suite. Authorities probing into the sad demise of Liam Payne are also looking into possible connections with high-profile drug dealers, as per sources.

The substance "pink cocaine", believed to be present in Liam's system, is not your typical cocaine. This dangerous concoction includes MDMA, ketamine, methamphetamine, cocaine, benzodiazepine, and crack, leading to psychedelic and hallucinogenic effects such as a distorted sense of reality, panic, and paranoia.

Known locally as "tusi" or "tuci", the drug is said to have originated in Colombia but has since gained popularity in the club and rave scenes. Given its unpredictable and often unregulated mix, users risk severe and even fatal reactions, including feelings of euphoria, heightened awareness, and intensified sensory experiences.
