Man dies after being pulled from water in Rotorua geothermal area

A man has died after being pulled out of the water in a geothermal area in Rotorua on Sunday.

Emergency services were called to the geothermal valley on Tukiterangi Street in southern Rotorua just before 9.45pm.

The man had been pulled out of the water unconscious, and couldn't be revived.

Police said his death would be referred to the coroner.
