Former Sunmi dancer Cha Hyun Seung reveals that he is now in remission after a 6-month battle with leukemia

Former Sunmi backup dancer Cha Hyun Seung has just provided a new update on his ongoing battle with leukemia.

Cha Hyun Seung was first diagnosed with leukemia in June 2025, and has kept fans updated on his treatment journey throughout the difficult last 6 months.

On December 22, Cha Hyun Seung announced that he is officially in remission from leukemia. He made a candid Instagram post celebrating the news, thanking fans for the support they've shown him and sharing a message of hope for all those currently battling serious illness.

"Everyone!! I'm healing!!!☘️

December 22, 2025.

My battle with leukemia, which felt like it would never end, has finally come to a close.

Honestly, from the moment the first symptoms appeared up until now, fear has always been present in my heart.

'What if I don't get better? What if I get a brain hemorrhage? Or a stroke? What if I have a heart defect too...?'

I felt like everything was only going to keep getting worse.

Then, I suddenly had this thought.

'No matter what I do, I can't completely stop this downward spiral. But even though I can't turn things around, I can at least try to slow things down.'

I felt that if my resolve continued to weaken, the downward spiral would only get faster.

At first, the pain I experienced during chemotherapy was simply exhausting and difficult to endure.

Then one day, I was resting unusually comfortably without any pain or chills, when the nurse checked my vitals and suddenly said, 'Your temperature is almost 40 degrees,' and urgently gave me fever medicine.

At that moment, I realized:

'Ah... pain isn't always a bad thing. Even this pain is part of the process that keeps me alive.'

From then on, I started laughing more, and as I kept laughing, my fears and problems slowly went away.

I hadn't allowed myself to hope for such a quick end to this struggle, but it feels like receiving a Christmas present. From now on, I will try to take a little better care of myself.

To all the patients still battling illness right now, I believe you all will make a full recovery too. It may be exhausting and difficult, but I pray that you never lose your laughter and hope.
