Byeon Woo Seok spreads hope with major donation to Severance Hospital

Actor Byeon Woo Seok has made a generous donation to support the treatment of children and adolescent patients at Severance Hospital.

On Jan. 2, Severance Hospital announced that Byeon donated 100 million won on Jan. 1 to mark the New Year. The donation will be used to support medical treatment for pediatric and adolescent patients.

This is not Byeon’s first act of giving. Last year, he also donated 300 million won to Severance Hospital with the same purpose of supporting treatment for young patients, demonstrating his continued commitment to philanthropy.

Byeon Woo Seok shared his thoughts through a statement, saying, “I am happy to be able to take part in supporting pediatric and adolescent patients as they regain their health and move toward a happy future together with their families.” He added, “I hope this donation will provide real help in their treatment and recovery, and I will continue to do my best to practice sharing going forward.”

He also expressed his New Year’s wishes, saying, “As we welcome the New Year 2026, I hope that everyone—including pediatric and adolescent patients and their families—can dream of hope.

Lee Sang Gil, head of External Affairs at Severance Hospital, expressed his gratitude, stating, “We sincerely thank actor Byun Woo Seok for consistently practicing meaningful giving. Severance Hospital will continue to do its utmost to deliver hope to even more patients.”

Byeon Woo Seok’s continued donations have drawn praise for bringing warmth and encouragement to young patients and their families, especially at the start of a new year.
