"Injection Aunt" breaks silence over alleged illegal medical practices involving Park Na Rae
by K-Soul · allkpopA woman identified as 'A,' widely known as the so-called “Injection Aunt” and accused of conducting illegal medical procedures on comedian Park Na Rae and others, has broken her silence and released a statement.
On January 24, 'A' posted on her social media account, criticizing a media outlet for publishing what she described as a sensationalized exclusive report. She wrote, “By putting the provocative keyword ‘Injection Aunt’ front and center, the outlet turned me into a target of nationwide criticism and gossip based solely on an unverified tip from a manager, without sufficient fact-checking.”
She continued, “The truth of this case should only be determined through the statements I have diligently provided to investigators and the objective results of the investigation. Nevertheless, certain YouTubers, social media channels, and even programs like 'Curious Stories Y' are focusing on generating views and attention by repeatedly using the keyword ‘Injection Aunt.’ As a result, distorted versions of my private life and gossip, unrelated to the facts, are spreading. The only place where I can speak the truth is before investigative authorities.” Along with her post, 'A' shared screenshots of ChatGPT responses regarding the Protection of Communications Secrets Act and the Information and Communications Network Act, signaling potential legal action.
The controversy dates back to December of last year, when allegations of workplace abuse involving Park Na Rae surfaced. During that process, claims emerged that Park had received injections from 'A,' who allegedly does not hold a medical license, at locations such as an officetel, inside a vehicle, and on overseas filming sites. She was also accused of receiving large quantities of prescription-only antidepressants from 'A.'
Following the backlash, 'A' took to social media to defend herself, stating, “I studied intensively while traveling back and forth to Inner Mongolia for two to three years, and I even served as the youngest professor at Pokang Medical University Hospital in Inner Mongolia. How can you turn me into gossip when you don’t even know me?” She posted photos of herself wearing a medical gown alongside the message.
However, the group Doctors for a Fair Society (Gongjeongui) refuted her claims, stating, “Upon verification, there is no medical school called Pokang Medical University. Furthermore, graduates of Chinese medical schools are not eligible to take Korea’s national medical licensing exam. Even if A graduated from a medical school in China and holds a Chinese medical license, any medical practice conducted in Korea would clearly be illegal.”
After deleting all posts from her social media accounts, 'A' remained silent until now, releasing her statement roughly one month later.
Meanwhile, SBS’s investigative program 'Unanswered Questions,' airing on January 24, is set to reveal the findings of its investigation into the allegations surrounding 'A.'
