Man in critical condition after being pulled from Waikiki waters

A man in his 40s was in critical condition after being found unresponsive in the ocean off Waikiki, according to first responders.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene at about 3 p.m. Wednesday off the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort.

Bystanders had begun CPR before Honolulu Ocean Safety lifeguards arrived and took over.

EMS provided advanced life support and took the man, estimated to be 48 years old, to the hospital in critical condition.
