PUMA and JiyongKim Channel Natural Aging on the Collaborative CELL Geo
The Korean designer applies weather-worn textures, frayed laces, and aged fabrics to the futuristic runner.
by Joyce Li · HypebeastPUMA and Korean designer JiyongKim have officially introduced the collaborative PUMA CELL Geo, redefining the futuristic performance silhouette through the lens of weathering and time. Merging technical sportswear innovation with artisanal surface treatments, the collaboration presents a worn-in study of contemporary footwear.
Renowned for experimental menswear that incorporates solar fading, environmental stains, and weather-shaped textures, JiyongKim applies his unique aging philosophy directly to the CELL Geo. The shoe’s sculptural architecture is reworked with aged fabrics, distressed detailing, frayed laces, and specialized surface treatments. Each deliberate imperfection reflects the marks that accumulate naturally over time, creating a deliberate dialogue between PUMA’s technical construction and a weathered aesthetic.
At the foundation, the sneaker retains its signature decoupled CELL heel unit, supplying geometric structure and advanced cushioning to the silhouette. Fluid cut lines and semi-shrouded laces preserve the shoe’s streamlined, futuristic profile while emphasizing the contrast with its organic finishing. In addition to the mainline offering, an exclusive Black colorway will launch in limited quantities solely through JiyongKim’s direct retail operations.
The PUMA x JiyongKim CELL Geo drops November 7, 2026, via PUMA, PUMA flagships, select stockists, and JiyongKim’s online and Seoul flagship stores, followed by a dedicated Japan release and pop-up at GR8 on November 14.
