Want to live to 100? Clean living alone won’t cut it

There’s a 43-year gap between the oldest-known human to ever live, Jeanne Calment, who died at age 122, and the current US life expectancy of 79 years. “The chances of making it to 100 for the vast majority of the population are remote,” said S. Jay Olshansky, an emeritus professor of epidemiology at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
But a new study of the offspring of centenarians offers insight into who is more likely to live that long (or longer).
