In a major achievement for the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar, six of its distinguished faculty members have been recognised amongst the top 2% of scientists worldwide, according to the prestigious global ranking released by Stanford University in collaboration with Dutch academic publishing company, Elsevier. This recognition places IIT Bhubaneswar’s faculty amongst the most impactful researchers globally, solidifying the institution’s reputation for excellence in research and innovation.

THE STANFORD-ELSEVIER RANKING

The Stanford-Elsevier annual ranking is highly regarded in the global academic community and highlights scientists based on the impact of their research, citation index, and other key academic metrics. The ranking evaluates scientists across a range of disciplines, and their placement reflects their career-long research contributions as well as recent breakthroughs. The evaluation classified scientists into 22 primary fields and 174 sub-fields using the Science-Metrix classification, which is widely recognised for its accuracy in reflecting the breadth and depth of academic disciplines.
