  • Sharma reportedly gave heavy anaesthesia dose before fleeing
  • Marriage strained by Sharma's hidden drug addiction to smack

A 23-year-old nurse was found dead at her residence in Gurugram, triggering a police investigation that has now led to her husband’s arrest.

The victim, identified as Kajal, was discovered lying on the floor of her room with blood coming from her nose. She was rushed to a hospital but died during treatment.

Police said the accused, identified as Arun Sharma, allegedly administered a heavy dose of anaesthesia to Kajal on the morning of March 18 before fleeing the scene.

Following an investigation, Gurugram Police arrested Sharma and claimed to have solved the case, terming it a premeditated murder carried out using medical knowledge.

MARRIAGE AND HIDDEN ADDICTION

Initial findings suggest that Sharma worked as a lab technician at a private hospital, where he met Kajal. The two developed a relationship and got married in November 2025 in what police described as a love-cum-arranged marriage.

However, within days of the wedding, Kajal allegedly discovered that her husband had a serious drug addiction, particularly to heroin, which he had concealed before marriage. Investigators believe tensions over this issue may have led to the crime.

MOTIVE FOR MURDER UNDER SCANNER

Police said further investigation is underway to establish the exact sequence of events and motive, including whether there was any prior planning.

The case has raised concerns over the misuse of medical substances and the ease of access to anaesthetic drugs, especially by healthcare workers.
