The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is probing the death of former model and actor Twisha Sharma, has obtained fresh details from the interrogation of the prime accused, Samarth Singh, regarding his movements after her death.

According to sources, Samarth told CBI officials that he remained in Bhopal for two days after Twisha's death before leaving for Jabalpur, where he spent the remainder of the period while evading arrest. He also informed the agency that he had reached court to surrender on May 22.

The disclosures have shifted the focus of the investigation towards identifying those who may have assisted Samarth during his time on the run. CBI officials are now examining who provided him accommodation, transport, or any other logistical support in Bhopal and Jabalpur. Sources indicated that Samarth has not been forthcoming with details on this aspect during questioning.

The probe agency is also expected to question doctors linked to the case. The move came in the wake of claims made by Twisha's mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, who had alleged that Twisha was addicted to drugs and had consumed them in large quantities. According to Giribala Singh, this was one of the reasons doctors had approved a Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) procedure.

Officials are also looking into Twisha's consultations with a psychiatrist. The CBI is likely to examine both the treating doctors and the psychiatrist to verify the claims made by Giribala Singh and assess whether they are supported by medical records and professional assessments.

Officials are expected to cross-check medical documents and witness statements as part of efforts to reconstruct the circumstances leading up to Twisha's death.

The CBI recently took over the investigation into Twisha Sharma's death after re-registering a Madhya Pradesh Police FIR that names her husband, Samarth Singh, and mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, as accused. Twisha, 33, was allegedly found hanging at her marital home in Bhopal on May 12.

Before the case was transferred to the central agency, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Madhya Pradesh Police arrested Samarth, a lawyer by profession, from Jabalpur and brought him to Bhopal. A local court subsequently remanded him to police custody for seven days.

Twisha's family has alleged that she was subjected to harassment by her in-laws over dowry-related demands following her marriage on December 9, 2025. They have accused them of mental and physical abuse, claiming the treatment pushed her to take the extreme step.

The allegations have been strongly contested by Giribala Singh, who, in multiple media interactions, raised questions about Twisha's medical treatment and mental health. Samarth was arrested on May 22 after remaining absconding for 10 days.

Last week, the CBI arrested former district judge Giribala Singh a day after the Madhya Pradesh High Court set aside her anticipatory bail. Officials have indicated that officials plan to confront the mother-son duo with each other's statements as they attempt to establish the sequence of events that culminated in Twisha's death.

Twisha's family has also accused Giribala Singh of attempting to tamper with evidence after obtaining bail. They have claimed that while police seized CCTV footage from the family's residence on May 13, selected clips were later circulated on social media in an alleged attempt to influence the course of the investigation.
