Delhi University suspends law students after FIR over alleged stalking, harassment

The University of Delhi has suspended two LLB students and banned their entry into the university premises following FIRs lodged by the Delhi Police in connection with an incident reported on the evening of September 23, 2026.

According to the university notice, Abhimanyu Kumar, a student of LLB at Law Centre-II, has been suspended from his course of studies with immediate effect.

UNIVERSITY TOOK ACTION BASED ON FIR

The university said the action was taken on the basis of the FIR lodged by the Delhi Police regarding the September 23 incident. His entry into the premises of the University of Delhi has also been banned with immediate effect.

The action has been taken under Clause 3(e) of Ordinance XV-B of the Delhi University Act, 1922, and has been approved by the Competent Authority of the University of Delhi.

The university has also suspended Naman, another LL.B. student of Law Centre-II, with immediate effect.

The notice states that the action against him was also taken on the basis of the FIR lodged by the Delhi Police regarding the incident that occurred on the evening of September 23, 2026.

His entry into the premises of the University of Delhi has also been banned with immediate effect under Clause 3(e) of Ordinance XV-B of the Delhi University Act, 1922.

The university said the suspension and campus-entry ban had been approved by the Competent Authority. The notice does not provide further details about the FIR or the incident that took place on September 23.
