Rs 15 balance dispute turns violent, shopkeeper's son stabs professor in Bihar

A Chhapra assistant professor was stabbed in the ear after returning to a shop over Rs 15 in change while buying milk. He is under treatment and police are searching for the accused.

An assistant professor in Bihar’s Chhapra city was stabbed in the ear after he returned to a shop to claim Rs 15 that was owed to him while buying milk. The professor was seriously injured in the attack and is undergoing treatment, while police are searching for the accused.

According to Bhagwan Thakur, a professor of philosophy at Nand Lal Singh College, he went to the shop to buy half a litre of milk, as he usually does.

He paid the shopkeeper with a Rs 500 note, following which he returned Rs 450.

After walking a short distance, Thakur realised that he had received Rs 15 less in change. He returned to the shop and gave the money back to the shopkeeper, offering to return the Rs 15 as well.

Thakur said the shopkeeper then returned the Rs 15. However, as he was about to take the money, the shopkeeper's son came from behind and stabbed him in the ear.

Following the attack, Thakur fell to the ground but managed to call his colleague who rushed to the spot and took him to the hospital.

A probe is currently underway and a hunt is on to nab the accused.
