Tragic excavation accident at Lothal: The loss of a brilliant young researcher

A horrifying excavation accident at the Lothal site in Gujarat has left the research community shaken. Two IIT researchers, Surabhi Verma, a 23-year-old PhD student, and her associate professor, Yama Dixit, were buried under a collapsed trench while investigating soil samples to study climate change's impact on the ancient Indus Valley civilization.
