Balasore: Government medicines allegedly dumped & burnt at Bahanaga PHC

Soro: The government-supplied medicines meant for patients were allegedly burnt inside the premises of the Bahanaga Primary Health Centre in Balasore district.

As per sources, the patients were reportedly denied of essential medicines. The medicines were dumped and were burned within the campus of the health centre.

Not one or two medicines, but many have been destroyed. Medicines, syrups, ointments, injections, etc, which came under the government’s Niramaya Yojana for various diseases, have been destroyed. Various kit packets have also been dumped in the concrete chamber meant for dumping garbage.

Local residents and public representatives have expressed strong resentment over the incident, alleging that medicines supplied under government healthcare schemes are not reaching patients and are being wasted instead.
