Medical Negligence: Child with fever administered anti-rabies shot in Bhadrak

Bhadrak: A child with a fever was wrongly administered anti-rabies shot at Dhamanagar community health centre in the Bhadrak district.
According to sources, Purushottam Tripathi of Dalang village had brought his nephew, who was suffering from fever, to the Dhamnagar Community Health Centre for treatment. Following a checkup, the attending doctor prescribed medicine and injection shots for the young boy.

He had shown the prescription to the nurse there. However, the nurse allegedly mistakenly gave him an injection for anti-rabies instead. Soon after reaching home with his nephew, the child suffered from pain so, he was immediately rushed to Jajpur for treatment at a private hospital.
Thankfully, the child recovered after receiving treatment. The police have started an investigation into the incident.
