Kataka: Bidyabharati Panda, the wife of deceased ACF Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra, has once again approached the Orissa High Court regarding the case of his mysterious death. She has sought anticipatory bail to avoid potential arrest.

Bidyabharati has reportedly filed the anticipatory bail application in the High Court today, in accordance with the Supreme Court’s directive.

The High Court had previously ordered her—as she is implicated in the case—to appear before the Paralakhemundi SDJM Court by October 1. She had subsequently moved the Supreme Court to challenge that order. However, the apex court upheld the High Court’s order.

At the same time, the Supreme Court clarified in its order that Bidyabharati could apply for anticipatory bail if she wished. Following the court’s ruling, she moved the High Court again, seeking more time to appear before the lower court.
