Vehicles without anti-skid chains barred on Tangmarg-Gulmarg Road

Baramulla, Dec 20: In view of the prevailing weather forecast and the likelihood of rain and snowfall, the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Gulmarg on Saturday issued a weather advisory imposing restrictions on vehicular movement on the Tangmarg-Gulmarg Road.

According to the advisory, heavy vehicles and vehicles not fitted with anti-skid chains would not be allowed to ply on the Tangmarg-Gulmarg Road once rain or snowfall begins.

The restriction will remain in force until further orders and has been imposed in the interest of public safety.

The SDM has urged all drivers and vehicle owners to strictly adhere to the advisory to avoid accidents and inconvenience arising from adverse weather conditions.

As per the advisory, any violation of the order will be viewed seriously and dealt with sternly as per the law.

The Tehsildar Tangmarg and the Station House Officers (SHOs) of Police Stations Tangmarg and Gulmarg have been directed to ensure strict compliance with the advisory in letter and spirit.

Meanwhile, commuters and tourists planning to travel to Gulmarg have been advised to stay updated on weather conditions and follow official instructions before undertaking their journey.
