Spanish delegates visit Parul University’s Startup Incubation Centre - Greater Kashmir
by GK NEWS SERVICE · Greater KashmirSrinagar, Nov 6: Vadodara-based Parul University played host to a distinguished delegation from the Spanish government, led by Her Excellency Begoña Gómez, the wife of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sánchez. The visit highlighted the growing collaborative spirit between India and Spain.
A statement said that during her tour, Her Excellency engaged with 12 innovative student-led startups at the university’s incubation hub, the Parul Innovation & Entrepreneurship Research Center (PIERC). She also interacted with the university’s dignitaries, gaining insights into Gujarat’s startup ecosystem and entrepreneurship networking.
Parul University, renowned for its commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, was selected by the Ministry of External Affairs of Spain out of all incubation centers in Gujarat. This selection reflects the university’s efforts in developing an ecosystem where innovation thrives, as evidenced by its NIRF Ranking 2024 – placing it among the top institutions in the country for innovation.
Her Excellency toured the incubation centre, which provides aspiring entrepreneurs with mentorship, funding opportunities, and market launch essentials. The centre has launched over 200 student-led startups, showcasing the university’s vision of empowering young innovators.
During her interactions, Her Excellency engaged with founders and co-founders of 12 student-led startups, representing a diverse array of sectors, including technology, healthcare, sustainable energy, and agriculture. Through these discussions, she gained insights into the unique approaches adopted by these student ventures to address global issue.
Her Excellency commended the university’s focus on social innovation and entrepreneurship, stating, “You are doing an incredible job in the field of Entrepreneurship and Innovation through the incubation centre. The focus on Social Innovation is particularly inspiring, as it addresses urgent global challenges.”
This visit not only recognised Parul University’s achievements but also reinforced the growing collaboration between India and Spain in the dynamic startup ecosystem.
