Sangley Point to hit 'danger' heat index — PAGASA
by Ian Laqui · philstarMANILA, Philippines — Sangley Point in Cavite may experience scorching heat on Monday, April 20, and Tuesday, April 21, the state weather bureau PAGASA said.
In its heat index bulletin dated April 19, PAGASA said Sangley Point may expect heat index levels of 42°C on Monday and 43°C on Tuesday, placing it under the "danger" category.
Under the "danger" heat index classification, temperatures ranging from 42°C to 51°C may be felt.
According to PAGASA, Sangley Point recorded a heat index of 44°C on Sunday, April 19.
Meanwhile, almost all areas in the country are under the "extreme caution" category, where heat index levels range from 33°C to 41°C.
The highest expected heat index on Monday under this category is in San Ildefonso, Bulacan, at 41°C.
In Metro Manila, readings from the PAGASA Science Garden in Quezon City and NAIA in Pasay City are also under the "extreme caution" classification.
The PAGASA Science Garden is expected to record a heat index of 37°C on Monday and 38°C on Tuesday, while NAIA is expected to reach 39°C on both days.
