Over 70,000 pass licensure exams for teachers – PRC
by Rhodina Villanueva · philstarMANILA, Philippines — Over 70,000 examinees passed the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT) given last Sept. 21 and Nov. 30.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that 21,967 elementary teachers out of 43,035 examinees and 57,729 secondary teachers out of 79,493 examinees successfully passed the LEPT.
Christel Zamora de los Reyes of Cebu Normal University topped the licensure examination for elementary teachers with a score of 94.40 percent.
In second place are Irish Glenne Dioses Carpio of Araullo University, Mary Antonette Muñoz Jalosjos of Saint Vincent College-Dipolog City and Nicole Angela Serrano Soro of Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology-Cabanatuan with a score of 93.80 percent.
Marsha Mae Mantalaba Tapic of Cebu Normal University ranked third with 93.60.
For the licensure examination for secondary teachers, Jed Vincent Requilme Abadia of Cebu Normal University topped the exam with a score of 94.80.
He is followed by James Brian Pantilgan Banag, also from Cebu Normal University, and Jan Kenrey Dalag Licayan of the University of the Philippines-Cebu, both garnering a 94.60 percent rating.
In third place are Raidar Metoda Lasala of the Philippine Normal University-Visayas, Christine Ese Salmero Perez of Cebu Normal University and Recto Mantilla Ruiz Jr. of the North Eastern Mindanao State University-Main with a score of 94.40. — Bella Cariaso
