39 areas to be under ‘danger’ heat index

MANILA, Philippines — Even with rains expected from Typhoon Domeng and the southwest monsoon, 39 areas may still experience dangerous heat levels on Sunday, May 31.

In its latest heat index bulletin, PAGASA said the 39 areas may experience heat index levels ranging from 42°C to 45°C.

On Saturday, May 30, Borongan, Eastern Samar recorded a heat index of 52°C.

For Sunday, Borongan and CBSUA-Pili in Camarines Sur may experience heat index levels of up to 45°C.

The following areas are under the danger heat index classification:

  • Science Garden, Quezon City, Metro Manila: 42°C
  • MMSU, Batac, Ilocos Norte: 42°C
  • Calayan, Cagayan: 42°C
  • Basco Radar, Batanes: 42°C
  • Clark Airport, Pampanga: 42°C
  • Cubi Point, Subic Bay, Olongapo City: 42°C
  • Ambulong, Tanauan, Batangas: 42°C
  • Mulanay, Quezon: 42°C
  • NAS-UPLB, Los Baños, Laguna: 42°C
  • Calapan, Oriental Mindoro: 42°C
  • San Jose, Occidental Mindoro: 42°C
  • Daet, Camarines Norte: 42°C
  • Legazpi City, Albay: 42°C
  • Juban, Sorsogon: 42°C
  • Catarman, Northern Samar: 42°C
  • Tacloban City, Leyte: 42°C
