P60 billion returned to PhilHealth
by Christine Boton · philstarMANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. confirmed that P60 billion has been returned to PhilHealth from the National Treasury.
In a statement yesterday, PhilHealth spokesman Israel Francis Pargas said the fund transfer is expected to support the agency’s ongoing efforts to expand and improve health care services for its members.
The agency acknowledged the Department of Finance for facilitating the remittance.
PhilHealth said the returned funds would be allocated to enhance benefit packages, strengthen internal systems, and improve the efficiency of service delivery to ensure better access to healthcare services.
“We thank the President for his clear directive to utilize these funds to improve healthcare services and reach every Filipino. PhilHealth remains committed to safeguarding public trust by ensuring that every peso is allocated toward enhancing benefits, streamlining systems, and delivering fast, fair and reliable services,” Pargas said.
