How One Woman Built A Community Supporting 20,000 Mid-Life Women
by Digitalstream · SCOOPTen years ago, Dr Wendy Sweet (PhD) launched a menopause programme because she could not find the answers she needed herself. In the completion of her doctoral studies on women’s health and ageing, she realised that there was a gap in the marketplace for evidenced lifestyle solutions for everyday midlife women navigating menopause.
Today she has helped more than 20,000 women while becoming an internationally recognised speaker, educator and advocate for lifestyle medicine for menopause.
The milestone comes at a time when menopause awareness has never been higher. But when she began her work, the conversation looked very different.
"Like many women, I was spending significant amounts of money on supplements, appointments and programmes that only addressed part of the problem," she explains. "I realised nobody was taking a whole-body approach to menopause or talking about the role of lifestyle science in helping women adapt to their changing hormonal environment."
Drawing on her experience as a former ICU nurse, exercise specialist, university lecturer and researcher, Wendy developed what would become My Menopause Transformation's whole-body lifestyle approach to menopause symptoms and weight gain.

What started as a single programme has evolved into a comprehensive education platform.
Today, MyMT™ includes programmes supporting women through perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause, professional education programmes for health practitioners, a substantial library of articles and educational resources, and private coaching communities that support women around the world.
As MyMT™ enters its second decade, Dr Wendy Sweet (PhD) remains committed to helping women and health professionals better understand the role of lifestyle medicine in reducing symptoms, improving health and supporting healthy ageing.
"Reading through the emails that women send me, one thing is clear. They are not afraid of getting older, they are afraid of getting older without their health. They want to travel. To keep up with their grandchildren. To enjoy retirement with energy and purpose! This vision is not out of reach. With the right knowledge and the right support, the post-menopause years can be some of the best of your life."
To mark 10 years of MyMT™, Dr Wendy Sweet (PhD) has released 10 Years, 10 Lessons, reflecting on what 20,000 women have taught her about menopause and healthy ageing.
