University Health and Social Care North Lanarkshire appoints new chief officer

University Health and Social Care North Lanarkshire has appointed Claire Rae as its new chief officer.

Claire, who starts her new role on October 1, brings a wealth of experience in health and social care, with her leadership expected to further enhance the partnership’s ongoing community services.

In her previous role, Claire served as the head of health and social care at South Lanarkshire University Health & Social Care Partnership.

Claire expressed her excitement about her new role, saying: “I am honoured to take on this responsibility and look forward to working alongside our dedicated staff.

“Together, we will strive to further build on, and enhance, the quality of care and support for our communities across North Lanarkshire.

"Like everyone working in health and social care, I’m committed to making sure we deliver the right care for people at the right time and helping them to live healthier lives in the heart of their communities.

“It’s important to thank outgoing chief officer Ross McGuffie for his hard work and commitment during his tenure.

"His leadership has been instrumental in strengthening our integrated services, and we all wish him all the best in his new position."

Professor Jann Gardner, chief executive, NHS Lanarkshire, said: “Claire’s extensive experience and commitment to improving health and social care outcomes make her an ideal fit for this role.

“We’re confident that under her guidance, the partnership will continue the excellent work already being achieved in delivering high-quality, person-centred care across North Lanarkshire’s communities.

“I know the partnership will continue to prioritise the needs of our residents and further build and develop the forward-thinking ambitions we have for everyone in the area who use our services.”

Des Murray, chief executive, North Lanarkshire Council, added: “Claire's appointment is excellent news for University Health and Social Care North Lanarkshire.

“Her vision and leadership skills will be invaluable as we work together to meet the evolving health and social care needs of our residents.

“I look forward to the fresh perspectives and expertise she will bring to this vital role."

Also joining the partnership’s strategic leadership team is Nicola Scott, who has been appointed as the partnership’s new chief finance officer, replacing Amanda Kilburn.
