A man has appeared back in court charged with the murder of a woman in East Kilbride.

Ewan Methven, 26, made no plea to the murder charge when he appeared on petition at a private hearing at Hamilton Sheriff Court today (Thursday, November 28).

The body of Phoenix Spencer-Horn, 21, was found at a property on Glen Lee on Monday, November 18.

Phoenix worked locally in the Strathaven Hotel and Roasted cafe in Strathaven.

Tributes have poured in for the popular restaurant worker after news of her tragic death.

Police Scotland said Phoenix’s family were "stunned" and "completely devastated" by her death.

Methven was fully committed for trial and remanded in custody.
