Scottish Water is set to begin work on a £1 million improvement project in Wigtownshire.

The utility operator is planning to replace around 5km of the water network in and around the Milton area.

Work is due to begin in private land near the A747 on Thursday, December 5, and will take nearly 40 weeks, with the final stage of work taking place near Aramenta Balcarry.

A Scottish Water spokesman said: “There will be roadworks in place to ensure the safety of site staff and the public. This will include the use of temporary traffic lights, diversions, road closures, and some access and parking restrictions. Please follow all signs put in place.

“Advanced signage will be in place seven days prior to any road closures taking place, and access for residents will be managed by the site team.”
