HONG KONG: The death toll from Hong Kong's deadliest fire in decades rose to 55 on Thursday (Nov 27) as firefighters battled to extinguish a huge blaze that ripped through high-rise residential towers.

In an update at 3pm, the Fire Services Department said that flames in four of the seven affected towers have been extinguished, while the situation in the remaining three is under control. One tower was not affected.
