Charlotte area school districts closed Monday due to potential severe weather
· Yahoo NewsCHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — We are tracking a potential severe weather system moving towards the Charlotte area that could bring thunderstorms, possible tornadoes and damaging winds Monday morning.
There is growing potential for strong, severe storms with the region currently under an Enhanced Risk for severe weather. These potential storms may bring damaging winds and possible spin-up tornadoes, being the greatest concern.
Due to the forecast, local school districts are adjusting their schedules for Monday, March. 16:
North Carolina
Anson County Schools – Non-Student Day (Closed for employees)
Ashe County Public Schools – Early Dismissal
Cabarrus County Schools – Remote Learning
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools – Closed
Newton-Conover Schools – Closed
Richmond County Schools – Closed
Rowan-Salisbury Schools – Closed
Stanly County Schools – Closed
Union County Public Schools – Remote
South Carolina
Chester County Schools – Closed
Chesterfield County Schools – Remote Learning
Clover School District – Remote Learning
Fort Mill Schools – Closed
Lancaster County School District – Closed
Rock Hill Schools – Closed
York School District – Remote Learning
