Watch: Drivers get stuck on flooded Southern California road during intense downpour
· Yahoo NewsMany roadways across Southern California are flooded due to the Christmas Eve storm that is drenching the region, leaving some motorists stranded.
Video obtained by KTLA shows exactly that occurring in Hesperia on Wednesday morning, as a pickup truck and a box truck got stuck in rapidly flowing water.
According to local authorities, the two vehicles stuck in the area of G Avenue and E Avenue around 10:25 a.m., and that’s when crews with the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to a call water rescue.

There are road closures in place across greater SoCal due to the atmospheric river, which has dumped a considerable amount of rain on the area in a short amount of time and, according to projections from the National Weather Service, may be the strongest Christmas weather event in recent history.
In the San Fernando Valley, part of the 5 Freeway was shut down due to the roadway being completely underwater. Elsewhere, Highway 2 in the Wrightwood area has also been closed, as the road has been deemed impassable due to debris flows.

There were at least nine SigAlerts on L.A.-area freeways before noon on Wednesday, and several crashes have been reported, including one on the 5 Freeway involving two FedEx big rigs.
Officials are advising residents across the Southland to, if possible, limit travel until the brunt of the storm is over.
