The closure extends 150 left and right of the storm drain, officials said. It will remain in place until samples and observation from the affected areas confirm that the water is safe again for people to come into contact with.
Updated beach and bay statuses can be found on the county’s Beach & Bay Water Quality Program webpage.
Meanwhile, the Crown Cove and Churches near San Onofre Creek in North County have been placed under advisory due to elevated bacteria levels that may cause people to become sick.
The La Jolla Children’s Pool remains under advisory for the same reason, while the Tijuana Slough and Imperial Beach shoreline remain closed due to sewage contamination, according to DEHQ.
