Gen Z is heading to Texas - one city is surging

The study says young workers are prioritizing tech job hubs, entry-level openings, and affordable housing in big metros, leaving places like California, New Jersey, and Minnesota. Texas had the highest influx: 5,081 Gen Z movers in, versus 3,555 moving out. Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington led city gains at 484, ahead of Houston-Pasadena-The Woodlands at 247 and Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos at 230. MovingPlace also flagged Dallas ZIP code 75204 for its downtown and uptown mix of apartments, restaurants, entertainment, transit, and bike infrastructure.
