Thousands without power in Northeast Ohio amid strong winds

CLEVELAND (WJW) — Thousands of people are in the dark Monday morning as strong winds blow through Northeast Ohio.

According to FirstEnergy, more than 13,453 customers are without power as of 3:10 p.m. The utility’s outage map shows that the majority are in Cuyahoga County, with more than 3,495 outages.

According to the Fox 8 weather team, wind gusts could be between 40 and 50 mph throughout the day on Monday, depending on where you live.

A 55 mph wind gust was recorded in Lorain, and a 53 mph wind gust was recorded in Cleveland, according to meteorologist Alexis Walters.
