vivo has launched two new affordable 5G phones in China, namely the Y50s 5G and the Y50e 5G. Both models feature an identical design and share most of their specifications. The phones are now available for purchase in the Chinese market.

The vivo Y50s 5G and Y50e 5G are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC. At the front, the handsets sport a 6.74-inch flat LCD panel with a refresh rate of 90Hz, HD+ resolution, and 1,000 nit peak brightness.

At the back, both phones come with a single 13MP camera, which is paired with an infrared sensor and LED flash. There’s also a breathing ring light housed within the camera module. For selfies and video calling, the handsets get a 5MP camera placed inside a waterdrop notch.

Both the vivo Y50s and Y50e pack 6,000mAh batteries. However, the Y50s supports faster 44W charging, whereas the Y50e is limited to 15W fast charging.

Other specs include an IP64 rating, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual SIM, 5G, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi, a 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. The phones run Android 15-based OriginOS 5. They measure 8.19mm thick and weigh 204 grams.

The only difference between the two phones is the storage type. The vivo Y50s comes with UFS 2.2 storage, whereas the Y50e uses eMMC 5.1.

Coming to pricing, the vivo Y50s 5G starts at CNY 1,799 ($260) for the 6GB/256GB model. It is also available in 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB variants priced at CNY 1,999 ($285) and CNY 2,299 ($330), respectively.

Meanwhile, the vivo Y50e 5G is sold in a single 6GB/128GB option and is priced at CNY 1,499 ($215). Both handsets are available in Diamond, Platinum, and Sky Blue color options.
