SRINAGAR: A fresh Western disturbance is expected to affect Jammu and Kashmir between May 11 and 13, bringing widespread rain and thundershowers across the Union Territory, according to Kashmir Weather Forecast.

The weather advisory said most areas are likely to witness wet conditions during the three-day period, while isolated thunderstorms may also occur in several districts.

Officials said weather conditions are expected to remain mostly dry but cloudy on Saturday before the fresh system begins influencing the region from Sunday onwards.

In view of the forecast, farmers have been advised to suspend farming and spraying operations during May 11-13 to avoid potential losses due to rainfall and gusty winds.

The advisory comes at a crucial time for agricultural activities in the Valley, with many farmers engaged in orchard management and seasonal farming operations.
